Where to Begin... mostly in the Middle

...or, where the ends meet, a blog begins.

I didn't begin with a big idea and plans on how to execute it. I began with a need. In 2011 I bought a house, something I wanted and planned for most of my adult life. and it was good. Mostly.

It was a house and not much else. No Trees, no green. Sigh. Since I am not a big fan of red dirt and rock, I started to make plans to have the front yard re-landscaped. I called landscapers,  got quotes and sat down to review everything and came to a realization.

I did not have the money to do what I wanted. whatsoever.

Furthermore, what I really wanted,  a  sustainable, low water front yard that was both green and flexible, was not something that any of the landscapers I spoke to had any idea how to execute.

And so began my quest. What could I do with the money (and time) I had?
